Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant continues to increase direct contacts and to promote cooperation between the peoples of the two neighbouring countries.

During October 2017-February 2018 application period, Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant received a total of 135 applications from both countries. We are delighted to announce that in this round, thanks to the support of the UK Government’s Conflict, Stability and Security Fund, the Hrant Dink Foundation in partnership with Gyumri Youth Initiative Centre will be offering support in the form of a travel grant to a total of 42 individuals – 25 from Armenia, 17 from Turkey – for their visits to the neighbouring country with specific purpose and programme. Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant 14th Round Grantees

Armen Khachatryan from Yerevan, a bibliographer from National Library of Armenia, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Istanbul for conducting bibliographical and scientific research at the Armenian Patriarchate.

Şevket Özdemir and Aysel Çelik Dincer from Ankara, Doctoral and MA students at Ankara University, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for presenting “Language Contact Analysis of Armenian, Turkish and Zazaki children’s books” at the Anatolia-The Caucasus-Iran: Ethnic and Linguistic Contacts (ACIC) conference hosted by the Institute of Oriental Studies of Russian-Armenian University.

Lara Güney Özlen from Istanbul will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for conducting panel discussions about women issues.

Marni Anjaoghlian from Yerevan will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Istanbul for taking part in a seminar organised by Wise Men Center for Strategic Studies.

Seda GrigoryanSosi Khanikyan and Davit Ayvazyan from Yerevan, members of Shakespeare Club Armenia, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Istanbul for making interviews and shooting a documentary depicting the various interpretations of Shakespeare’s works by Armenian actors, translators, singers and filmmakers throughout centuries.

Burcu Diri from IstanbulÖzge Kurban and Şeyma Sarıbekiroğlu from Izmir will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Vardenis and the surrounding villages for a comparative research about an Armenian village in Bitlis named Çevrecik (former Ahkis).

Nelly Paytyan from Yerevan, member of Armenian Progressive Youth NGO, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Istanbul and Eskisehir for a study visit to Tepebaşı District Governorate Social Assistance and Solidarity FoundationDynamic Development AssociationCommon Knowledge and Communication Association for discussing future projects.

İpek Çınar from Ankara will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for a research and a photography project about the role of mythology in gender identification focusing on women with the name of “Lilit” with the support of Art and Cultural Studies Laboratory.

Diana Hayrapetyan from Yerevan, an associate professor, Gevorg Petrosyan and Neli Abrahamyan from YerevanArman Harutyunyan from AbovyanEmma Chobanyan from Gyumri and Astghik Stepanyan from Talin, students of Yerevan State University, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Istanbul for attending a study course at Bilgi University Department of History, visiting libraries and obtaining literature.

Raziye Köksal Kartal and Emel Karakozak from Adana, members of “TERsAçı” photography collective, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for building partnership with Armenian photographers and working on their project about Cibin Armenians who still remain there or settled in Armenia after 1915.

Tigran Amiryan from Yerevan, an associate professor of Russian-Armenian University, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Istanbul for making a research at the library of French Institute (L’Institut Français à Istanbul) on comparative analysis of Armenian and Turkish literature that has been created in the French language.

Bülent Yarbaşı and Ayşe Ayben Altunç Yarbaşı from Istanbul will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for filming the footsteps of Zabel Yesayan in Yerevan as part of their documentary “The two ordeals” about Zabel Yesayan and Halide Edib Adıvar.

Özgün Kaplama from Istanbul, a youth worker and a member of European Students Forum (AEGEE) Istanbul, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for attending the European Planning Meeting (EPM), held in Yerevan.

Anna Meliksetyan and Vahe Darbinyan from Yerevan, representatives of ABCD Innovation Center, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Çanakkale for meeting their partners from Çanakkale Koza Gençlik Derneği for discussing new partnership projects and for making a video story about the Armenian presence in the city.

Itır Erhart from Istanbul, the co-founder of Adim Adim – first charity running initiative in Turkey, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for meeting the organisers of Yerevan Half Marathon and other running communities in Armenia to exchange experience about fundraising through running events.

Lilit Petrosyan and Zubeida Hovhannisyan from Armavir , representatives of Myasnikyan Secondary School Tamara Baghdasaryan and Varditer Papoyan from Armavir , representatives of Karakert School N1 and Karakert School N2 Arshak Avagyan from Yerevan, a PhD candidate at Yerevan State University Elya Harutyunyan from Ashtarak Mariam Vardanyan and Anush Kekhyan from Yerevan , students of Yerevan State University chair of Turkish Studies, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Istanbul for meetings Karagozyan and Bezciyan Armenian Elementary Schools to get acquainted with their educational programmes.

Ece Cangüden and Ege Erdal from Istanbul will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit YerevanSevan and Dilijan for their movie and photography project in Armenia about the bond of geographic and cultural similarities that are divided by political borders.

Çise Baltacı from Kayseri, a graduate of Erciyes University Armenian Language and Literature Department, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Ararat and Yerevan for researching at Matenadaran and other libraries about the history of Surp Grigor Lusavorich Church in Kayseri.

Sona Sukiasyan from Yerevan, a research fellow from Center for Civilization and Cultural Studies – YSU, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Istanbul for carrying out a research on multiculturalism of Balat district by interviewing people.

Şahin Keskin from Niğde, president of Knowledge and Skill Association, will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Yerevan for study visits to Armenian universities and for discussing partnership projects with ABCD Innovation Center.

Hayastan Avagyan from Shurnukh village near Goris will be supported with Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant to visit Istanbul for a culinary exchange with the women of Kadın Kadına Mülteci Mutfağı and  Ad.dar Community Center for Syrian and Palestinian-Syrian Refugees in Istanbul, where they prepare  Syrian food for their beneficiaries.
