Within the framework of the Turkey – Armenia Fellowship Scheme, 12 fellows travelled
from Armenia to Turkey and conducted their activities in the neighbouring country at
various host organisations:
Anna Muradyan completed her fellowship at Yuva Association where she conducted a research
on migration with special focus on migrants from Armenia who currently live in Turkey.
(November 2014-May 2015) (Istanbul). Her research findings were published by Yuva Association
under the title ‘An Island within an Island: Educational Needs Assessment of Armenian Migrants inTurkey.’
Sona Dilanyan completed her fellowship at the Peace Education, Research and Application
Centre of Boğaziçi University, where she conducted a research on women’s role in post-war
reconciliation processes. (October 2014 – May 2015) (Istanbul). After the completion of her
fellowship, she has been offered full scholarship by Sabancı University to continue her studies in
2015-2016 in Istanbul.
Ruzanna Baghdasaryan completed her fellowship at Anadolu Kültür, where she helped the
organization build contacts in Armenia, and worked on the pre-production of her film project about
the Armenians living in Turkey in the 19th century. (October 2014-March 2015) (Istanbul)
Sargis Khandanyan completed his fellowship at Change.org, where he cooperated with the
organization’s East Europe and West Asia campaigning team based in Istanbul with special focus on
campaigns on Armenia and Armenians. (October 2014- May 2015) (Istanbul)
Astghik Igityan completed her fellowship at CNN Turk, where she followed the social, cultural and
political developments in Turkey as well as the Armenian community in Istanbul, and made TV
reports and interviews broadcasted by CNN Turk. (October 2014 – February 2015) (Istanbul)
Daniel Khachatryan completed his fellowship at the Turkish Economic and Social Studies
Foundation (TESEV), where he continued his research on foreign policy, peace-building and
conflict resolution. His paper ‘‘The EU’s Niche in the New South Caucasus: Old Partners, NewsChallenges’’ was published in English by TESEV. (October 2014 – February 2014) (Istanbul)
Sona Mnatsakanyan completed her fellowship at Kadir Has University Lifelong Education
Centre, where she taught Eastern Armenian language to university students for two semesters as a
visiting scholar. (October 2014-May 2015) (Istanbul)
Seda Shekoyan completed her fellowship at Istanbul Museum of Modern Art curatorial
department, where she studied the collection, exhibitions, library and archive of the Museum and
curated the public screening ‘‘Motifs vs Themes vs Attitudes: Video Art from Armenia and Turkey’’.

Hayarpi Hovhannisyan completed her fellowship at Yıldız Technical University Art and Design
Faculty, where she taught photography courses to university students and Adobe After Effects to
students of Department of Interactive Media as a visiting scholar. (October 2014 – May 2015)

Marianna Hovhannisyan completed her fellowship at Salt Research, where she studied the
archives of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Mission as well as the archives of
SALT Research as a reference to explore the city life in the early 19th and 20th centuries in several
Anatolian cities with significant Armenian population. (October 2014 – April 2015) (Istanbul). After
the completion of her fellowship, she was offered a new fellowship grant by Salt Research for the
completion of her research and for the organization of the resulting exhibition. Empty Fields
curated by Hovhannisyan, which is open to visitors at Salt Galata until June 5th, 2016
Sofya Manukyan completed her fellowship at Istanbul Bilgi University Human Rights Law
Research Centre, where she conducted her comparative research on human rights practices and
wrote her paper ‘‘Human Rights Costs of Development: Case of Two Neighbors – Armenia andTurkey’’. (October 2014 – April 2015) (Istanbul)
Haroiut Marachlian completed his fellowship at Istanbul Şehir University Centre for Modern
Turkish Studies, where he continued his research on diaspora literature and taught Western
Armenian language to university students for two semesters as a visiting scholar. (November 2014
– May 2015) (Istanbul) After the completion of his fellowship, he has been offered full scholarship
by Sabancı University to continue his studies in 2015-2016 in Istanbul.

Gaye Coşar started her fellowship at Civilitas Foundation, where she collaborated with the
Foundation’s media project ‘‘Understanding Turkey’’ and contributed to the online media portal
Civilnet.am as a journalist and editor. Due to a tragic accident in Yerevan in December 2014, she
passed away and could not complete her fellowship. (November – December 2014) (Yerevan)
Suzan Rosita Meryem completed her fellowship at Gallery 25, where she built connections
between artists of the two countries, made research for her art projects “Voices in the Dark” and
“Consumption Patterns”. (November 2014 – February 2015) (Gyumri) After the completion of her
fellowship, her art project ‘‘Silent Book [armenian genocide]’’ was published by Antares Publishing.
Candan Badem completed his fellowship at the National Academy of Sciences Institute of
Oriental Studies, where he continued his research on the Ottoman-Russian wars in the 19th and
20th centuries, Ottoman-Russian borderlands and the South Caucasus under the guidance of Prof.
Ruben Safrastyan. (January – May 2015) (Yerevan)
Nil Delahaye completed her fellowship at Women’s Resource Center, where she supported the
organization by using movement and music for the benefit of disadvantaged groups and gave
capoeira classes for women in Yerevan. (November 2014 – May 2015) (Yerevan)
Meltem Naz Kaşo completed her fellowship at PINK Armenia, where she conducted a comparative
research on the nature of the transnational collaboration of LGBTI activist groups in Armenia and
Turkey. (November 2014 – January 2015) (Yerevan)
Emine Onaran İncirlioğlu completed her fellowship at Caucasus Research Resource Center
(CRRC-Armenia) where she studied the databases of the organization and made her research on
the role of culture in reinstituting the Armenia-Turkey relations. (February –May 2015) (Yerevan)
