The Hrant Dink Foundation has established the Turkey-Armenia Fellowship Scheme with a view to promote cross-border affiliation and cooperation of professionals from the two neighbouring countries within the framework of the programme Support to the Armenia-Turkey Normalisation Process financed by the European Union. The Fellowship Scheme will offer 18 professionals from Armenia and Turkey the opportunity to live and follow a special programme at a specific Host Organisation in the neighbouring country for 4 to 8 months. Individuals who proposed their own project ideas, other than the fellowship opportunities offered by the listed Host Organisations will also develop their project in the neighboring country.
The Fellowship Scheme aims to enable cross-border learning opportunities in areas where further exchange of expertise and lasting cooperation is much needed, such as academia, civil society, media, culture and arts, translation and interpreting/language-learning and law.
63 organisations from Turkey, 25 from Armenia offered fellowship programs for the Turkey-Armenia Fellowship Scheme. The Fellowship Scheme, which started accepting applications in June 2014, received 36 applications from Turkey, 55 from Armenia.
As stated in the Turkey-Armenia Fellowship Scheme Regulation with regard to the selection process, the applications have been redirected to Host Organizations and to the independent Selection Committee. Fellows, who have been chosen in line with the selection criteria and priorities outlined in the Armenia-Turkey Fellowship Scheme Regulation, are declared. During the period between October 2014 and May 2015, 18 professionals from both countries will arrive in the neighboring country and begin their programs.
We are delighted to announce that the Hrant Dink Foundation will be offering support to the fellows of the Turkey-Armenia Fellowship Scheme in the neighboring country to promote cross-border affiliation and cooperation.
