Monika Manişak from İzmir was supported by the Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant and visited Yerevan to study history, literature and cultural studies at the Armenian Studies Summer School organised by the Armenian Association for Academic Partnership and Support (ARMACAD).

“I should offer my thanks to ARMACAD and Hrant Dink Foundation, who enabled me to explore the wealth of my Turkish-Armenian identity with this summer school which is an academic and cultural platform. This summer school gave me the chance to explore the traditions of the Armenian culture as well as the motives that feed its language and culture. It helped me to understand the relationship between these two countries from a comparative perspective.”

“Even though stereotyping and overgeneralizing are problems of every society, face-to-face interaction, mutual exchange and such programs will serve a basis to overcome such issues.”
