Burcu Çuvaş from Ankara, former member of AEGEE-Ankara (European Students’ Forum), Ramazan Oğuz Tosun and Turgut Tosun members of AEGEE-Ankara (European Students’ Forum) were supported by the Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant and visited Yerevan and Gyumri to meet civil society organisations and discuss possible cooperation projects.
Burcu Çuvaş
“Our visit contributed to the Armenia-Turkey normalisation process by increasing our awareness about Turkey-Armenia relations. This visit proved us that Turkish and Armenian youth can work together and do projects.”
“I feel at home in Armenia. It is not surprising that we have so much in common.”
Ramazan Oğuz Tosun
“In fact, we already had something to say about the relations. We have a project called ‘Two Sides of A Mountain’. After this study visit, we can say the same words. We went to a country which shared a similar culture; the difference is as much as the two sides of a mountain.”
Turgut Tosun
“This grant was just meant for me! I have been working on Turkish-Armenian relations and peacebuilding in the Caucasus for many years. I never had the chance to be there. This grant was a very important chance for me and my group.”
